CLEVELAND, OHIO:  Tzangas Plakas Mannos Ltd. filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of couples who have had their cherished dreams of having children crushed by the failure of University Hospitals to monitor and maintain proper temperatures for frozen eggs and embryos which have been entrusted to University Hospitals.

Tzangas Plakas Mannos Ltd. has offices in both Akron and Canton, and litigates complex medical cases throughout Ohio.  The failure of University Hospitals to preserve and protect these frozen eggs and embryos has affected couples not only in the Cleveland Metropolitan area, but also couples throughout the region which includes Summit, Stark, Medina, Portage and other neighboring counties.

Attorney Megan J. Frantz Oldham, one of the attorneys from the law firm representing the couples stated, “Couples’ cherished dreams of having children deserve the highest level of protection.”  She continued, “institutions that advertise and undertake this solemn responsibility as a business must make an appropriate investment in fail-safe systems that protect the future dreams of the couples that are relying on the supposed expertise of that business.”

Attorney Lee E. Plakas added, “For a couple of hundred dollars, most home heating and cooling systems can be monitored and controlled remotely. It’s unimaginable that the systems which should preserve the dreams of having children didn’t receive the necessary commitment to avoid this tragic result.”
